Before the thermal fuse is activated, br current flows from the left lead to the sliding contact and through br the metal housing to the right lead. When the external temperature br reaches a predetermined temperature, the organic matter br meltsand the compression spring becomes loose. That is, the br spring expands and the sliding contact is separated from the br left lead.
