These 110V aluminum submersible sump pumps have an aluminum body that’s lightweight and provides good corrosion resistance. They are commonly used to drain water in sump pits. They are submerged in the water to cool the pump motors so they can run longer without overheating compared to upright/pedestal sump pumps that have motors above the sump pit. Submersible pumps are electric-operated and have a pump body and pump motor combined into one unit. They have a switch that starts the pump motor when sump pit water rises to a certain height then stops the pump motor when the water has drained down.
